A HISTORY OF THE 1ST VOLUNTEER BATTALION. “THE KING'S” (LIVERPOOL REGIMENT). [With section on Anglo-Boer War].

Formerly Known as the 1st Lancashire Rifle Volunteers. From its inception in 1859 to the end of June, 1908, when under Mr. Haldane's Territorial Scheme, it became the 5th Battalion “The King's” (Liverpool Regiment).

Black patterned sheep leather with gilt title, with a rubber stamp of “KEATING & CO. MILITARY BOOKSELLER” on the last page. Two newspaper clippings mounted on the front end page, of which one is the obituary “Col. Thomas Passed Away On Thursday”.  Has several sections related to the War in South Africa. Clean and near fine. See photos.
