Book Condition: General wear and rubbing to the boards. Bumping to the head and heel of the spine and corners of the boards. Interior front and rear hingers are splitting but the book is intact. Name and date opposite the half-title page. Heavy offsetting to the protective paper for the frontispiece. Also offsetting and foxing to the frontispiece and title page.The gutter is visible after page xviii and the page with the fold-out map, which should fit in here is loose. There is slight darkening to the pages and edges. Plate 226 is missing, but there is a copy loosely inserted. There also appears to be light water stain to the bottom corner of the book. But it is only really visible on some of the plates.
