First English Edition. Clean ex-library with embossed stamps and nos on the spine. Cloth in excellent condition. Gilt bright. A scarce title.

Including accounts of pig-sticking and hunting leopards, bears, tigers, elephants, and crocodiles. Savory travelled to Peshawar, the Khyber Pass, Kashmir, the Himalayas, the Deccan, and Ootacamund.

Savory was English sportswoman who became a best selling author. Savory took advantage of the rare opportunity for a woman to hunt in India. She was invited by a local maharajah to participate in a pig stick, She also successfully hunted for bear, tahr and tiger.
