It is made of solid sterling silver in a Rhodesian mukwa frame and bears the Rhodesian hallmark.

This particular bell is No. 187 in a limited series of one thousand.

This replica bears an excerpt from the Prime Minister's address to the nation following the Proclamation of Independence.

The stand of this replica, has a movable horizontal bar which enables the bell to be rung and is made of Rhodesian mukwa (often called Rhodesian Teak or Bloodwood). The leather case bears the Rhodesia Coat of Arms, awarded to Rhodesia in 1924 by Royal Warrant and the entire piece is made under the auspices of Scottish Jewellers (Private) Limited in Salisbury.

The bell is 10 cms in height and 11.5 cms in width with a silver clapper and is hallmarked along the rim. The wooden frame is 18cms in height.

It is inscribed with the phrase: "We have struck a blow for the preservation of justice, civilisation and Christianity and the signature of Ian Smith.”

With a Certificate of Authenticity and a scroll tied with blue ribbon commemorating Rhodesian Independence 1965-1975.

The original Independence Bell was cast in bronze in Holland and was rung twelve times at exactly midnight every November 11th. It was last rung in 1978 and was then moved to the National Archives of Zimbabwe, where it remains today.
