Arnold Henry Savage Landor (2 June 1865 26 December 1924) was an English painter, explorer, writer, and anthropologist. An inveterate traveller know for his witty writing style, he visited America, Japan, Korea, China, Nepal, Tibet, Abyssinia and Brazil. This book covers his journey through Abyssinia and Somali-land.

In original green boards with gilt title and decor on upper cover and gilt titling on spine. Some rubbing around edges but otherwise boards are in good condition. Foxing in prelims and sporadically throughout with volume 2 slightly less foxed. Map tear has been repaired with Japanese tissue paper.
