He guided the Prince of Wales on two hunts, and bagged a wide variety of game, including lion, rhinoceros, and other plains game. In one instance, he saved American millionaire Alfred Vanderbilt from a charging rhino. Blixen-Finecke achieved a measure of fame as the husband of Isak Dinesen.
