The front paste down has the Halse family book plate. Robin Halse was well known in South African hunting circles and his daughter, Jane, runs Rowland Ward Publications. Original brick-red buckram boards with gilt titling on the spine. xxx prelims, 356 pages, foreword by President Roosevelt, illustrations by Edmund Caldwell, 13 black and white illustrations. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding has some wear and marks, such as lightly bent corners and wear at the extremeties, especially the head of the spine. The Robin Halse ownership stamp on the free front end paper. A little end paper browning.
