"Byeenversameld uit wat in di laaste 30 Jaar ferskyn is" Fascinating early poems gathered from various publications of the time. Includes patriotic songs and poems in chapters such as "Fer Moedertaal" and "Fer Faderland". Also "Di Transvaalse Fryheidsoorlog" and "Minnegedigte (love poems).

Significant use of High Dutch as it was evolving and transmogrifying into Afrikaans.

Many poems about the Anglo-Boer War such as "Di Mislukte Jameson Komplot" on page 28 (which first appeared in Ons Klyntji) "het jy  ooit fanselewe fan gehoor, fan so 'n listige duiwelskomplot?" There is also an example of an early poem ("Kommando Liid") dating from 1866. 

Condition: Good. Red cardboard cover scuffed and bumped. Text clean and clear. Spine has been reinforced with taped.
