Six titles all inscribed (one only signed) to Aubrey van der Bijl. He was a prominent and well known member of the RAF and then the SAAF. He was also one time President of Rotary International. Several of these titles contain long personal and meaningful inscriptions and thus this is a very interesting lot. The titles are: 1. Allen, Michael. DFC. About Lt.Gen. Denis Earp. Former Chief of SAAF. Orig. wraps. Inscribed by Earp on title page. 3. Lucas, Laddie. Out of the Blue. The Role of Luck in Air Warfare. 1985. 1st. edn. dw. Illustr. by Michael Trim. Contains two long inscriptions - one by the author and one by the illustrator. 4. Atkins, Peter. Buffoon in Flight. 1978. 1st. edn. dw. Re. SAAF. Inscribed by author. 5. Schofield and Nesbit. Arctic Airmen.1987. 1st.edn. dw. Signed by both authors on ffep.and by v.d. Bijl on front pastedown. 6. Spring, Ivan. Flying Boat. 1995. 1st.edn. Wraps. About Catalinas. Inscribed by author on tp. to v.d.Bijl 'who knows more about Catalinas than I will ever understand!' All volumes are in about fine condition and have dw.'s when called for.
