216mm x 141mm x 16mm 242pp. Half leather (calf) binding with raised bands over cloth (Bound by R. Carswell & Son, Ltd. Queen Street, Belfast). Marbled EP`s and text-block edges. Included is a separate insert as well as a tipped-in insert with some fountain pen notes. The loose insert contains hand-written information on Brig-Genl William Wyngard (1759-1819). The book also contains a few footnotes and under-linings. The last paragraph on page 104 has been ruled through and re-written/edited in neat fountain ink on the bottom margin of the page followed by a full page letterpress typescript tipped-in between pages 104 and 105.

Some scuffing to leather extremities. Foxing to flyleaves. The spine label has a chunk missing out of it. Else internally clean and tight.

The 64th is to this day best remembered for its service at Cawnpore during the Indian Mutiny.
