98 photographs (100m 160mm) mainly of the Boer forces during the Anglo Boer War. They are housed in 3 albums. There is one with brown cloth covers titled Photographs in gilt on the upper cover, which has lost its spine with the back cover detached - these photographs are starting to detach from its remains.
There are two smaller albums without covers which are held together by canvas backing. They both have all edges gilt. Most of the photographs are in good condition, but a few are faded and worn. There appear to be a couple of duplicates. None of them are dated, all have captions –the photographs from the small albums are in the same hand.
