An album with black leather boards, a simply repaired cloth spine and leather corners, consisting of 24 leaves with 91 sepia toned photographs pasted onto the recto of each. These depict different aspects of the Boer War and include regiments, trains, campsites, also many scenes of general interest. All have hand written captions in pencil, but no dates. The album has no title on it, and the boards are scuffed and worn. On the front free end paper is a handwritten title : Photographs F. M. Smith June 1902 Cradock Cape Colony.

The photographs are mostly 100 x 70 mm, several are larger, 3 – 5 of them pasted onto a single leaf of the album. They are in good condition.

The contents include:
Ammunutions on A.T.
Lord Kitcheners train Kroonstad
Troops at Colesberg Junction

Lookout at Welverdiend
Camp at Algoa Bay
Highland Light Infantry
