528p. Profusely illustrated with colour and black and white photographs etc. A catalogue of a special exhibition at the National Army Museum October 1999 -February 2001.

A heavy book of almost 3 kilograms.

A beautifully illustrated history of the British Army in South Africa. A collection of essays by twelve historians guides the reader through the history of the British Army's experiences in South Africa in the 120 years leading up to the First World War.

It is a catalogue produced in 1999 to accompany the National Army Museum centenary Anglo-Boer War exhibition. It's subject matter is much, wider, however, ranging from the Cape Frontier Wars up to the First World War, and including a lot of material on the conquest of Zululand. It consists of articles by various experts - including John Laband and Ian Knight - illustrated with colour photographs of exhibits in the Museum's collection - as such it is probably the largest collection of artefacts to this period which has yet been assembled and documented. It includes a number of Anglo-Zulu War items. https://ianknightzulugallery.com
