2 volumes: 432 pages (continuously paginated), numerous illustrations including portraits and facsimile of letters and music, bound in oatmeal cloth with green paper title labels on the spines, edges uncut, some pages unopened, contained in a paper covered slip case, a very good set.

Special edition in two volumes: 55 copies only of Beethoven the Creator have been printed on Van Gelder Paper and signed by the author (the copies are unnumbered).

Romain Rolland (29 January 1866 – 30 December 1944), French dramatist, novelist, essayist, art historian and mystic who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1915.
