Watkins - Pitchford was brought from England in 1895, by the Natal Government, to do research on rinderpest, horse sickness, East Coast Fever and other stock diseases. He endured and survived the Siege of Ladysmith. This book is the reproduction of a letter to his wife written between 27 October, 1899 and 1 March, 1900. It gives a very good impression of day to day life under Siege during that time. 129 Pages.
