xii, 339 pages, 24 black and white photographic plates with photogravure portrait of the author as frontispiece,  colour folding  map. Original mauve cloth with gilt titling and a gilt vignette of a buffalo head on the upper cover and gilt titling  with a  vignette of a lion’s head on the spine – spine slightly faded and the pages adjacent to map are browned, overall a good copy.

Czech: An annotated Bibliography of African Big Game hunting Books, 1785 to 1950 pages 53/54, ‘The author hunted primarily in the regions near Lake Bangweulu and the Luangwa and Luapula rivers in Northeast Rhodesia. He presents the game he collected in a chapter-by-chapter analysis, and includes roan, hartebeest, puku, lechwe, sitatunga, tsessbe, sable, and eland. There are also excellent descriptions of hunting elephant, buffalo, hippo, and rhinoceros, as well as bagging lion and leopard near Lake Mweru.’
