339 pages, frontispiece, 24 plates, large coloured folding map slightly torn on edge, mauve cloth title and lion's head gilt on spine which is worn at the edges, corners bumped.

Czech (Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 -1999, (new edition 2011) Pages 87- 88: The author hunted primarily in the regions near Lake Bangweulu, and the Luangwa and Luapula Rivers in North East Rhodesia. He presents the game he collected in a chapter by chapter analysis , and includes roan, hartebeest, puku, lechwe, sitatunga, tsessbe, sable and eland. There are also excellent descriptions of hunting elephant, buffalo, hippo and rhino, as well as bagging lion and leopard near Lake Mweru.
