This copy has the ownership stamp of \"Orlando Paes\" who was a well known professional big game hunter of the Mamede family. The ownership stamp also occurs towards the end of the text. With chapters by Olive Schreiner and S.C. Cronwright-Schreiner. Original dark blue cloth boards with gilt titling on the spine and the upper board. decorative blind-stamp on the upper board. Top edge gilt. xii prelims, 313 pages, profusely illustrated in black and white. Folding map. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding does have some wear and a few marks, but overall it is clean and attractive. The foxing/spotting occurs mostly at the first few and last few pages. The folding map has some foxing, a few creases from folding and a closed tear. The frontis is stained - see image - and the tissue guard has severe foxing.
