The story of Bill Baillie, a bilboa (or 'bush baby') set in the gold mining area of West Australia, particularly the town of Goongarrie, where he was 'born', written in the quaint local dialect, using words and phrases such as: fossikin', critter, by the hokey, out back, duffers, making tucker, etc... in sixteen chapters (159pp.) and illustrated with black and white drawings by Jack Sommers, and eight coloured illustrations by the author.

Condition: grey linen boards are flecked and worn, corners bumped, with binding shaken and the gatherings starting to loosen; previous owner dedication on half-title, lightly marbled end-papers, contents generally very good but marked and stained in places, with some nicks and tears to page edges.
