This commissioned work for the Deutsche Guggenheim is an installation of animated film, mechanized figures and drawings all situated in a miniature theatre. Although the focus is on the technological development of the theatre and visual reproduction techniques, the contents deal with Germany’s colonial history in Africa with particular reference to the massacre of the Hereros in 1904. First edition in pictorial boards in mint condition as new.
