94 pages and a leaf of publisher’s advertisements, 4to (265 x 205 mm), colour frontispiece and 7 colour plates, 8 black & white plates, sketches in the text, original blue cloth back with gilt titling and patterned paper-covered boards with a paper title label laid down on the upper cover, decorated endpapers.The cloth back and paper sides are soiled and worn along the edges, a ten millimetre piece of the paper title label is missing at the bottom right hand corner, the colour plate opposite page 66 is loose and there is nick in the fore-edge with some loss, light foxing throughout and on the page edges.
