An interesting copy of this book with a personal inscription from Locke to his 'old friend' Chris (Bobbert) on the title page. Laid down on the front pastedown is an original postcard size sepia photograph of Locke and two others with the handwritten caption '1940. With Mom, on one of Bobby's many visits to the farm', probably written by the inscribee Chris Bobbert whose signature also appears on this page. The renowned golfer's signature is uncommon. Also laid down on the front free endpaper is a 1987 article from Golf World. Foreword by Bernard Darwin. In the original blue cloth but a fair copy only with moderate wear especially to the top forecorner and at the top of the spine. Lacking the dustwrapper. However, sold with a second very good copy in dustwrapper of the same title. Both copies are first editions.
