Original heavy leather photograph album with decorative gilt outline, inlay and gilt blocking to front board. All edges gilded .3 raised ribs with decorations to spine. Glossy decorative endpapers.
Appears to have been compiled by Sergeant Alex Lafone, No 3 Troop, 49th Company Imperial Yeomanry (Montgomeryshire), raised by Sir Tom Watkin Wynn, bart. Lafone suffered a gunshot wound to right eye. Many newspaper cuttings and photographs of three members of the Lafone family engaged in the South African War.
At the end of this compilation, there is a note that this is his diary with the Casulaties given special mention, in black ink.
