Red Cross card No 221, issued during the Anglo-Boer War by the Identity Department of the Transvaal (The Geneve Red Cross Society, Pretoria) to Johannes Frederik Coetzee (b. 25 February 1878). His age is stated as 21 and address as Pretoria. Coetzee served in the State Artillery. The card has separated into two parts, is heavily worn with loss to edges and the cloth binding on the outside covers have discolored.

Coetzee married Annie Birkenstock in 1903. See LOTS 390, 444 and 445.
