"Bertiere, back from Botswana where she indulged in her most compelling passion "the landscape safari". Carrying her paint-box over her shoulder, she ran from one bank to another across the wet and wandering delta of the Okawango to capture the ceaseless movements of the varied and abundant fauna and trap the dazzling light of Africa as well as its lush vegetation. The fresh wet reeds, the groves of palmtrees and the green gleaming water-lilies have all fallen into the artist's nets. The naively mischievous monkeys, the elephants in their majestic strength were all captured by her precise pen. Even whole villages of strawhuts have surrendered to her sharp eye.
