This is the world renowned photographer's uncommon first book published in 1979 prior to his arrival in South Africa. In it, in photographs and stories, he leads us across the continents of Europe, Asia and North America in search of boyhood. His images in this book are generally more conventional than those of his later books where he at first photographed marginalised communities in South Africa and later this evolved into his more stylised and rather surrealistic images. However, one can perceive the origins of this development in some of the pictures in this volume.
This is a fine copy in a very good plus complete dw. with some light edge wear and creasing. Signed by Ballen on the half-title.
