Boards are rubbed and scuffed, corners bruised and worn, spine band is split along its entire length of the back hinge and is fragile.

Red titling and buffalo vignette to the front board are still discernable.

Maps to the end-papers show the author's route from Cape Town, through South Africa; Southern and Northern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe & Zambia), Tanganyika (Tanzania) and finally to Kenya.

Ownership signature to the title page.

Pages vii + 310 including the appendix of his journey's route.

Outer pages are heavily tanned and occasional light foxing.
