Spiral-bound booklet containing pasted in photos of P W Botha at firing test of the Cactus Missile, June 9th 1969 at the Biscarrosse testing range of SEREB in France.

The Cactus 131 Missile (originally Crotale EDIR) is an all-weather short-range SAM, which can be used to intercept low-flight missiles and aircraft, developed by Thompson-Houston {Thomson-Brandt merged with Compagnie Générale de Télégraphie Sans Fil (CSF) to form Thomson-CSF in 1968}. for the SADF, who paid 85% of the development costs, while France, who also later used the system, paid the rest. Originally designed for marine use, this was mounted on armoured vehicles in SA.
