Limited edition: 255 pages, frontispiece, black and white illustrations, blue leather sides with white leather spine, titled gilt on the spine, top edge gilt, others uncut, a very good copy in the black cloth covered slip case which is damaged at the bottom edge.

The four pages preceding the preface are facsimile reproductions of the first and last two pages of the original manuscript of Cakes and Ale

Loosely inserted are two letters : One by Colin H. Brown to Somerset Maugham dated 23^rd January 1954 thanking him for his literary contribution on his eightieth birthday, and a reply to Colin Brown from Somerset Maugham dated 2 February 1954 thanking him for the good wishes received on his birthday.
