First edition: 392 pages, coloured frontispiece, numerous colour and black and white photographs, green pictorial cloth titled gilt on the upper cover and spine, a fine copy housed in a matching green slipcase.

The limitations page reads: One thousand copies have been printed. This numbered and signed edition is the seventy-first book in the Classics in African Hunting Series. This is copy number 321 signed by the author's wife.

Professional hunter and safari operator Rolf Rohwer died suddenly of a heart attack in his hotel room in Reno the morning of January 25, 2008. Rohwer was well known in the international hunting community as a conservationist and highly ethical safari operator. He was one of the founding members of the International Professional Hunters Association and the Professional Hunters Association of Zambia, as well as a respected member of the African Professional Hunters Association.
