This being the Second Revised Edition, 4th impression.
This edition broadens the scope of the original work and incorporates new research. During the many years when the authors systematically combed the Cape Platteland, they had the advantage of examining a great deal of the furniture in a domestic setting, often with butter still in the 'karring' and dung on the table legs. The authors, by incorporating this background information into the revised edition, give not only a pictorial representation of Cape country furniture, but an insight into the daily life of the rural districts; 368pp.
