Two volume set, 527p. Colour frontispiece in both volumes. Illustrated with b/w plates. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering, and dust jackets have some minor soiling. A detailed collection of personal accounts from the original Dutch, English, French, Portuguese, Danish and German of early visitors to the Cape, accompanied by context and background notes. Also contains an index with over 2200 entries on flora and fauna, people, names etc. A very good copy of these two volumes.
