7 volumes comprising the complete set of 5 volumes and 2 supplementary volumes with the index, original brown cloth titled gilt on the upper covers and spines – volume without the titling on the spine as issued, illustrated throughout, a very good set.

‘This catalogue of pictures was compiled primarily to provide a record for the Africana Museum itself. Every picture, more that 6000 of them, has been re-examined, recatalogued, annotated where necessary, and a photograph made. The catalogue includes entries for all the original pictures in the Africana Museum that have an Africana interest.’ From the introduction to the first five volumes. Volumes 6 & 7 were published later and include nearly 3000 additional items.
