The author was in Ladysmith during the siege.
2.) The Bible on the Battlefield by F. C. Vernon-Harcourt
First edition published in London by Marshall Brothers in 1903. Very good to near fine. Publisher's red cloth with gilt titles and black printed illustration to front board. 329pp + adverts at rear. Black & white plates.
A work on Christian evangelism within the British Army during the Anglo-Boer War. The author came to South Africa in 1900 to organize the distribution of 200,000 special "Soldier's New Testaments" among the forces in the field, and to minister the sick and the wounded.
