Original dark blue cloth-covered boards with gilt title on front. Lower front edge of spine has a 6 cm split and top and lower edges of spine are frayed, corners bumped with board showing.

However, this scarce book is well held together and all the inner pages are tightly bound.

Between four and six b/w photographs of children on each page, alphabetically within the book, with names, dates and places of birth, current addresses next to each picture.

Pages [1-10]11-146

This is a remarkable production. A large book on good quality paper, with clear pictures.

A number of articles (not paginated) at the end of the book include chapters on 'How are our children being taught?' 'The Cape Town Baby Saving Society, the value of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts in character building in children, the work of the Juvenile Advisory Boards and the Modern View of Childhood. Full index of family names of children photographed together with the town or suburb of residence.
