87 pages, numerous black and white plates bound in with the text and a separate portfolio of 28 photographs by Martin Johnson at the back of the book, maps as endpapers, uncut fore edge with slight foxing, grey paper covered boards with a buckram spine with a title label pasted down on the spine, a very good copy.

Tipped in on the front free endpaper: "To My Old Comrades in The Kodak Organization, Geo Eastman."

Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 – 1999, page 90: Written as a memento to his employees, the famous founder of Eastman-Kodak company details his safari to East Africa, hunting around Mt. Kenya, crossing the Guaso Nyiro River and bagging lion, buffalo, and plains game. He was accompanied by Martin and Osa Johnson, and Philip Percival was his professional hunter. On the second leg of his journey, Eastman and his party traveled to the Gurumeti and Meru Rivers of Tanganyika where they hunted buffalo, lion, and rhinoceros. Interestingly, Eastman later returned to Africa to collect an elephant, a trophy most elusive on his first venture.

New York Times October 16, 1927: This very beautifully made book preserves a series of letters written by Mr. Eastman in the course of the hunting trip into the interior of Africa, which he made during the Summer of last year in company with Daniel E. Pomeroy and Dr. Audley D. Stewart. Landing at Mombasa they proceeded to Nairobi, where they established headquarters, making from there various long trips into the hunting regions of the interior. https://www.nytimes.com/1927/10/16/archives/hunting-in-africa-chronicles-of-an-african-trip-by-george-eastman.html
