From the introduction: By his own admission Walter Battis suffered from a disease called isolamania, which he first related to the Greek Islands and later extended to the other islands he visited. Battiss visited the Comores from 20 September to 1 October 1974 and again from 6 to 17 June 1975. These dates are taken from his passport as no notebooks or letters recording his visits have been found.
