Hardcover Octavo, bound in Maroon cloth boards, Dutch text with 109 pages. Gilt titling on the front board and to the spine, all edges gilt. Head and heel/corners are a bit bumped and had some rubbing along the edges due to general shelf wear.
The spine is sunned and also has some marks on the front and back boards. Small strip of rear board has been sunned. There is a small split along the front bottom hinge; overall, the binding and the book are in very good condition.
James Barry Munnik Hertzog, better known as Barry Hertzog or J. B. M. Hertzog (3 April 1866 near Wellington, Cape Colony – 21 November 1942 in Pretoria, Union of South Africa) was a Boer general during the second Anglo-Boer War who became Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa from 1924 to 1939. Throughout his life he encouraged the development of Afrikaner culture, determined to protect the Afrikaners from British influence.
