100 original photographs of Frederich Lange in Windhuk. 15 pages of text in German to rear. Fold-out colour map. Coloured embossed pictorial cloth with a mounted German Schutztruppe with a transport oxwagon in the background. All edges gilt. Has been carefully recased with maroon leather and new endpapers. Plate 18 is loose, there are two additional photographs which are loose taken of Windhoek much later. The first 5 pages have a small piece missing from upper edge and page 63 has a piece missing which does not affect the plate. A beautiful book showing views of Windhoek, Swakopmund as well as landscapes, ethnic herero, damara and ovambo peoples, flora and fauna.
