By a Beaconsfield Resident.
First Edition: 89 pages +1, decorated paper wrappers, upper cover printed in red and blue, the covers are worn and frayed at the edges and the spine is torn, overall a good copy of a scarce siege account, housed in a cream folder.
Five copies of the first edition are listed in A South African Bibliography volume 2 page 72.
It is likely that the author was a member of the Beaconsfield Town, or Border Guard. A list of the officers of the Guard appears on the verso of the front cover.
