Publisher's green softcover binding with black titles on front panel.
153pp. Illustrated by Reenen J. van Reenen.
Inscribed on front endpaper in the year of publication, "Aan Ds. J. R. Albertyn, Met groete en agting van die skrywer, C. J. Langenhoven, Willowmore, 18 Oktober, 1921."
Rev. Albertyn was a pastor in the Dutch Reformed Church and a pioneer in the field of welfare and care for the poor.
The author C. J. Langenhoven stands among the greats in the pantheon of early Afrikaans literature. He was primarily a poet and author of short prose. He wrote what is considered to be the first science fiction work in Afrikaans Loeloeraai, but is most famous for writing the words for South Africa's National Anthem Die Stem.
Die Pad van Suid-Afrika is nowadays an uncommon title to come across, but a period-inscribed copy like this one is exceedingly scarce.
