First edition. xii, 312 pages, frontispiece and 17 plates - 4 of animal heads have tissue guards with descriptive captions, folding map clumsily folded and slightly torn at two folds, original dark green cloth with gilt titling and vignette on the upper cover, decorative gilt on the spine, original black endpapers – starting to wear at the front hinge, slight insect scarring on the back cover, light foxing, edges uncut, a very good copy.

Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 – 1999, page 304: 'Willoughby and Sir Robert Harvey trekked into virtually unknown region of the Tana River, the Taveta Forest and the area near Mount Kilimanjaro. On this extensive safari, the pair bagged rhinoceros, lion, buffalo, hippopotamus, eland, elephant, and other game. There is also a letter written by Harvey describing a lengthy hunt along the Tana River.'
