Crown 8vo; original red pictorial cloth, with gilt lettering to spine and upper cover; pp. xvi + 192 + (viii); several photographs. Spine worn at head and tail, sunned, and very slightly cocked; boards a little bumped and partially sunned; lower joint a little rubbed; gift inscription to half-title; some foxing to endpapers and occasionally elsewhere. Good. (Hackett, pp. 48, 162; Mendelssohn I, p. 817) \"An account of work undertaken by the South Africa General Mission to aid soldiers in the field. The narrative is primarily concerned with events during the second Boer War but includes reference to the Jameson Raid and earlier work amongst the Cape Mounted Riflemen.\" - Hackett, South African War Books, p. 48.
