Limited edition: [122] pages, numerous armorial crests in black and white, bound in vellum over bevelled boards, which are soiled, chips in the vellum on the inside of the back cover, the King’s red armorial crest with lions in gilt, on the upper cover, foxing, top edge gilt, others uncut, a fair copy.

The limitation reads: This edition of Marlowe’s Edward II is strictly limited to 500 copies, numbers 1 to 50 being coloured by hand and printed on Maillal Hand-made paper. This copy is number 189.

The colophon reads: Hand-set by I.VV.S in 14 pt Caslon Old Face and printed by hand on Maillol hand made paper, the shields drawn by Alexina Ogilvie and emblazoned by messrs.A. Alexander and sons. Bound by messrs. James Burns & Co
