”Africa is richer in Emperor moths than any other continent. Many of them are recorded in this book, all the known ones from the southern half of this continent are described, and there are lavish illustrations.” Numerous line drawings throughout text, 43 plates, 15 of which are in full colour. Includes chapters on collection and preservation, classification and structure, plus lists of host plants and foodplants, and glossary.
Original rust-coloured cloth, gilt lettering on spine still bright. Lightly bumped at spine-ends and upper corners. Light discolouration, some foxing on all end-papers and half-title page, small booksellers sticker on front paste-down, corresponding mark on free front end-paper, otherwise clean. Book appears barely used. Dustwrapper is edge-worn, with some short closed tears along top edge, but no loss. Rubbed along folds and lightly sunned on spine.
