Two volume set. Original red cloth bindings with gilt titling on the spines and blind stamped decorations. Pale yellow end papers. Volume one has ix prelims, an errata page, 306 pages, the publisher's announcement of a forthcoming title followed by 24 numbered pages of the publisher's catalogue of available books. Two black and white plates with tissue guards and a very large folding map. Volume two has vi prelims, 372 pages and a frontis illustration with a tissue guard.
CONDITION DETAILS: This set is worth restoring. The binding on volume one has been crudely fixed with sticky tape on the outside, but mercifully not on the end papers. The same with volume two, but here most of the spine is detached. The large folding map has a tear and signs of age.
