3 Volumes
Contains 66 chromolithograph plates with tissue guards.
Numerous black and white engravings.
First edition of a wonderful periodical series edited by William Robinson, recognised as a
trail blazer of the time in horticulture and garden design. He sought out the best
quality paper to complement the plates in the publication and employed the most eminent
artists available.
"The vivid floral chromolithographs are drawn from paintings by Henry G. Moon, who's death
in late 1903 contributed to the suspension of the journal, and to whom the third volume is
dedicated."
Very few of these sets are now available owing to them being dis-bound for their plates.
