With this area now under the threat of fracking, this may well be an important reminder to us of what could be lost. The author has described her life in the Karoo during the second half of the 20th Century. Her personal account gives us a wonderful insight into not only the business of sheep farming, but also the sense of community that exists between the traditional Karoo families. Numerous black-and-white (and some colour) photographs to illustrate farming and social scenes. Pages [i-viii]pp1-275[276]. Book and dust jacket in Fine condition. Previous owner has written the date of purchase neatly, but large, across the ffe.
