This is and interesting record of the author\'s long association with the Department of Justice. Mr.Ahrens writes authoritatively and intimately and it is obvious from a perusal of this book that his magisterial duties merited the respect of friend and foe alike.In his hands justice has been dispensed in a firm but kindly manner.Mr. Ahrens has travelled widely in the Union and South-West-Africa,and he is to be commended for his wisdom in putting on record his experiences.
The book contains many humorous anecdotes not imaginary but factual,and these,allied to other references,combine to make \"From Bench to Bench\" a book of historical interest.
