"Kumm landed in Nigeria in 1908 with the intent of

setting up missions to counteract the spread of Islam,

particularly in the Sudan. While on his travels, he enjoyed

considerable sport, including buffalo near Donga, and elephant,

hippopotamus, buffalo, and rhinoceros, as well as various antelope

in the Shari River Valley. After leaving Fort Archambault, he bagged

lion, Near Ndele, he collected additional elephant, p.90".
